Community Style: The Photo Edit

I am so excited and honored to share these beautiful images on my journal today! Earlier this month, I co-hosted a Community "Styled" Shoot with three other fabulous women and small business owners in our local area; Sara of Sara Elizabeth Weddings, Abby of Lavish Floral Designs and Laura of LoinLondon, fine paper goods. I have attended many styled shoots and photography conferences over the last few years, and always left feeling inspired, with stunning images, contacts and friendships made with other professionals and the confidence to potentially do something like this myself.

When Sara reached out to me asking to be a part of this workshop as the lead photographer and providing education to other togs, I definitely said yes!! We have so many talented vendors in Missouri and Illinois, a majority of whom we've worked with a time or two. It was amazing to see our designs, details and efforts all come together and then capture the beauty that was created! I also had so much fun educating and sharing my experience and knowledge with the participating photographers. I spoke about the importance and why we take the time to plan and do styled shoots while encouraging the notion of shooting for yourself and being creative.

With seven years of experience in wedding photography, you definitely learn the do's and don'ts and tips and tricks to make shooting more enjoyable, stress-free, and profitable. That is exactly what I hoped to achieve with this experience. Creating a sense of community was very important for us as well, and I think we did just that! We love doing what we do, collaborating with one another and making our mark on this massive wedding industry world.

Stay tuned for more opportunities in the future with McDonald Video & Photography! It's another stepping stone in my business journey and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you.

Enjoy! XO,

Laken
